Dwight Howard was lucky enough to play with Kobe Bryant and LeBron James during his NBA career. Howard was teammates with Bryant on the Los Angeles Lakers during the 2012-13 season and played with LeBron twice on the Lakers in 2019-20 and 2021-22.
During a recent interview with Math Hoffa, Howard talked about the differences between playing with Bryant and LeBron in the NBA.
“LeBron’s almost like somebody from the south side of Georgia,” Howard said. “We acting kind of like twins. Joking, silly, have a good time. We get on the court, we still gonna have a good time, but we’re gonna dominate. Kobe, he not bulls—ing with nobody. He might not come to the locker room to talk. So he’s just gonna walk all the way past us.”
Howard and Bryant didn’t have a good relationship during the 2012-13 NBA season, a big reason why the center left the Lakers in the summer of 2013 for the Houston Rockets. Meanwhile, LeBron and Howard never had any issues and the two NBA legends helped Los Angeles win the 2020 NBA championship over the Miami Heat in six games at the Walt Disney World bubble in Orlando, Florida.
