Golden State Warriors point guard Stephen Curry still believes he’s in the prime of his NBA career despite being 35 years old.
Curry will turn 36 on March 14, 2024.
“I still feel like I’m in the prime of my career,” Curry told PBS. “In a sense of what I’m able to accomplish. Just out there and what the future may hold, trying to achieve, hopefully win more championships and push the envelope as far as I can.”
Curry averaged 29.4 points, 6.1 rebounds and 6.3 assists last season for the Warriors while shooting 49.3% from the field, 42.7% from beyond the arc and 91.5% from the free-throw line. Golden State won 44 games and was the sixth seed in the 2023 Western Conference playoffs.

The Warriors beat the Sacramento Kings in the first round of the 2023 NBA postseason in seven games. Curry scored 50 points in Game 7 on the road, willing his club to the second round. Golden State faced LeBron James and the Los Angeles Lakers in the conference semifinals and most pundits picked Curry and Co. to win.
However, the Lakers defeated the Warriors in six games. Curry averaged 26.7 points, 5.5 rebounds and 7.5 assists in the six-game series, but the two-time NBA MVP couldn’t get past James and Anthony Davis.

The Warriors traded Jordan Poole to the Washington Wizards this summer for Chris Paul. Golden State is expected to start Paul, Curry, Klay Thompson, Andrew Wiggins and Draymond Green next season.
Curry has career averages of 24.6 points, 4.7 rebounds and 6.5 assists. He has made nine All-Star teams and nine All-NBA teams and won two regular-season MVPs, four championships and one Finals MVP.
There are a lot of critics who believe the Warriors will not win another title in the Curry era, so it will be fascinating to see if Curry proves his doubters wrong again.
