Nerd Sesh of Volume Sports believes Carmelo Anthony is the most overrated player in NBA history.

In 1,260 games with the Denver Nuggets, New York Knicks, Oklahoma City Thunder, Houston Rockets, Portland Trail Blazers and Los Angeles Lakers, Anthony averaged 22.5 points, 6.2 rebounds and 2.7 assists while shooting 44.7% from the field, 35.5% from beyond the arc and 81.4% from the free-throw line. He made 10 All-Star teams and six All-NBA teams and won the 2012-13 scoring title.

NBA NEWS & RUMORS: Carmelo Anthony Updates

Sure, Anthony wasn’t the most efficient scorer, but only eight players have scored more points than him in NBA history. Anthony is ninth on the all-time scoring list with 28,289 points. The 39-year-old scored 62 points on January 24, 2014, against the Charlotte Bobcats at Madison Square Garden as a member of the Knicks while shooting 23-of-35 from the floor, 6-of-11 from 3 and a perfect 10-of-10 from the free-throw line.

Anthony didn’t win a title like LeBron James, Dwyane Wade and Chris Bosh, the three superstars who were in the 2003 NBA Draft with him. He will go down as one of the greatest players in history to never win a championship.

NBA NEWS & RUMORS: Carmelo Anthony Updates

Anthony will be a first-ballot Hall of Famer one day. Calling him the most overrated player ever seems like a stretch considering he averaged over 20.0 points for the first 14 years of his career. Not many players can say they’ve done that.

Although Anthony never reached the NBA Finals, he’s one of the best playoff performers ever. Anthony averaged 23.1 points in the postseason with the Nuggets, Knicks, Thunder and Blazers.
