Best Remaining NBA Free Agents & Top Landing Spots

NBA Rumors

Sometimes, the calm comes before the storm. Other times, it comes after it. NBA free agency is still ongoing. Yet, it’s been quiet recently. One might say that it’s been too quiet.

On the other hand, a storm may not be coming. Most of the major names have been snatched up. With that said, there are still significant free agents left on the board.

Some of them are young and unproven. Others are talented veterans with flaws. For whatever reason, there are still meaningful NBA players left who do not have homes. Here are the three best, and their best landing spots.

PJ Washington

Frankly, it’s a bit shocking that PJ Washington is still available. Some general managers are asleep at the wheel. Washington is a recent lottery pick. He’s played well throughout his NBA career. What’s going on here?

Perhaps he’s just a difficult player to put a value on. Washington is not a primary initiator. In fact, he’s limited on offense. Teams may be getting some sticker shock in conversations with his people.

NBA NEWS & RUMORS: PJ Washington & Charlotte Hornets Updates

They shouldn’t be. Washington may not be an All-Star. He’s still a versatile combo big who can guard multiple positions. Throw in reliable floor spacing, and someone needs to pay this young man. In all likelihood, somebody will before long.

Best Landing Spots: Indiana Pacers, Portland Trail Blazers, San Antonio Spurs

Ayo Dosunmu

By contrast, it’s easy to understand why Dosunmu is left on the board. His efficiency took a massive dip in 2022-23.

Of course, that was coming off of an All-Rookie Second Team selection. Dosunmu looked like a draft-day steal as a rookie. Has the shine really worn off so much?

It shouldn’t have. Even with a dip in his three-point efficiency, Dosunmu was a fantastic point-of-attack defender. He’s also a solid distributor who can set his teammates up.

NBA NEWS & RUMORS: Ayo Dosunmu & Chicago Bulls Updates

Is he a future star? That remains to be seen. Still, this is a solid NBA rotation guard who’s still young enough to improve. Someone has to be interested in him.

Best Landing Spots: Washington Wizards, Orlando Magic, Toronto Raptors

Christian Wood

Last but not least, we’ve got the most complicated remaining free agent of all. Christian Wood is a talented player. He’s worthy of a starting spot in the NBA. At least, in theory. In practice, his lackadaisical defensive effort seems to find him ushered out by every NBA team that he lands on.

Wood may be running out of fans around the NBA. He needs to keep his worst instincts in check for whichever team employs him next.

NBA NEWS & RUMORS: Christian Wood & Dallas Mavericks Updates

If he can, he could be a bargain. For all of his flaws, Wood is one of the best floor-spacing big men in the NBA. Somebody may be glad to have taken a risk on him sooner than later.

Best Landing Spots: Los Angeles Lakers, New York Knicks, Brooklyn Nets
