Free agent forward Dario Saric has agreed to a one-year contract with the Golden State Warriors, agents Jeff Schwartz and Mike Lindeman of Excel Basketball told NBA insider Adrian Wojnarowski of ESPN.

Saric, who played for the Phoenix Suns and Oklahoma City Thunder last season, had been one of the most sought-after players left on the market. At 6-foot-10, Saric gives the Warriors size and shooting off their bench.

Saric has fully recovered from an ACL injury that cost him the entire 2021-22 season. He appeared in 57 games last season and averaged 6.4 points, 3.6 rebounds and 1.3 assists while shooting 45.8% from the field, 39.1% from beyond the arc and 82.9% from the free-throw line.

The 29-year-old Saric has career averages of 11.0 points, 5.6 rebounds and 1.9 assists with the Philadelphia 76ers, Minnesota Timberwolves, Suns and Thunder.

The Warriors are expected to start Chris Paul, Stephen Curry, Klay Thompson, Andrew Wiggins and Draymond Green next season. Golden State acquired Paul from the Washington Wizards in the Jordan Poole trade and re-signed Green to a $100 million contract in free agency.

Green told Los Angeles Clippers forward Paul George on the “Podcast P With Paul George” podcast that Paul is going to make the Warriors’ offense more dynamic.

“I think he brings a couple things,” Green said. “Number one, I thought last year — and Steph said this in his press conference — we ran out of variety. And what I mean about variety is, in a team, you need to have a variety. Our team last year didn’t have a variety of ways to score and I think CP adds another thing to the menu to address the topic of a variety of ways to score. CP plays totally different than Steph, totally different than Klay, totally different than myself.”

The Dubs, who have won four championships in the Curry-Thompson-Green era, lost to the Los Angeles Lakers in the 2023 Western Conference Semifinals in six games. Along with adding Saric, the Warriors signed Cory Joseph. However, Donte DiVincenzo left for the New York Knicks.
