LeBron James and the Los Angeles Lakers entered the NBA offseason in desperate need of adding more talent. While Rob Pelinka and company had very limited money to work with, they have done an excellent job of adding the much-needed talent. In fact, many have claimed that they are the winners of the free agency market thus far.

So far in free agency, the Lakers have been able to retain D’Angelo Russell, Rui Hachimura, and Austin Reaves. In addition to those two key moves, they went out and added Gabe Vincent, Cam Reddish, Taurean Prince, and Jaxson Hayes. All four of those guys are going to be quality rotation players.

While the Lakers have made quite a few moves already, Pelinka and company may not be done. Adding more depth to the front-court would make a lot of sense.

Silver Screen & Roll, a Lakers’ website, linked the Lakers as possible fits for two intriguing free agent centers. Those two centers are Bismack Biyombo and Christian Wood.

Obviously, Wood is one of the biggest names available on the free agency market right now. He has received a ton of interest from the Miami Heat, but joining the Lakers is without question of interest to a player like Wood. He averaged 16.6 points per game to go along with 7.3 rebounds and 1.8 assists.

As for Biyombo, he would be a quality addition as well. He is coming off of a season with the Phoenix Suns that saw him play in 61 games and average 14.3 minutes per contest. In those appearance, he scored 4.3 points to go along with 4.3 rebounds and 1.4 blocks.

Either of these players would give the Lakers great depth in the front-court. L.A. will have competition from other contenders for both players, but it would make sense to pursue at the right price.

Expect to see Pelinka and the Lakers continue looking to make moves. They are happy with what they have done so far, but it’s championship or bust right now. Los Angeles has to feel very good about the position they have put themselves in.
