Torrey Craig is leaving the Phoenix Suns for the Chicago Bulls, according to NBA insider Adrian Wojnarowski of ESPN. Craig is signing a two-year contract with the Bulls. The deal includes a player option.
Craig averaged 7.4 points, 5.4 rebounds and 1.5 assists for the Suns last season while shooting 45.6% from the field, 39.5% from beyond the arc and 71.1% from the free-throw line. He appeared in 79 games and started 60.
In the 2023 playoffs against the Los Angeles Clippers and Denver Nuggets, Craig put up 6.5 points and 2.3 rebounds per game. He shot 57.8% overall and 44.0% from 3-point range. The Suns, despite having Kevin Durant, Devin Booker and Chris Paul, lost to the Nuggets in the Western Conference Semifinals in six games.
Craig has career averages of 6.0 points, 4.0 rebounds and 1.1 assists with the Nuggets, Milwaukee Bucks, Suns and Indiana Pacers.

The Bulls missed the playoffs in 2023 after making it in 2022. Along with signing Craig, Chicago signed Jevon Carter and re-signed Coby White and Nikola Vucevic. The Bulls weren’t able to keep Patrick Beverley, who joined the Philadelphia 76ers.
Since Lonzo Ball is expected to miss the entire 2023-24 season, the Bulls have applied for a disabled player exception worth $10.2 million. Ball underwent a cartilage transplant in his left knee in March. The UCLA product missed the entire 2022-23 season.

Ball has undergone three surgeries on his left knee. The former Los Angeles Lakers star hasn’t played in an NBA game since January 14, 2022. Ball signed a four-year, $80 million contract with the Bulls in August 2021 as part of a sign-and-trade deal with the New Orleans Pelicans. The 25-year-old averaged 13.0 points, 5.4 rebounds and 5.1 assists in 2021-22 while shooting 42.3% from the field, 42.3% from beyond the arc and 75.0% from the free-throw line.
The older brother of Charlotte Hornets All-Star LaMelo Ball, Lonzo has career averages of 11.9 points, 5.7 rebounds and 6.2 assists with the Lakers, Pelicans and Bulls.
