It was not supposed to happen that the Miami Heat would make the NBA Finals this season. In fact, they were not supposed to make it out of the first round of the playoffs.
The Heat were underdogs against the Milwaukee Bucks. The moment they got past them, we knew that anything was possible for them.
The run that the team put together was impressive. It is evident that this team had some holes in it. To be specific, they didn’t even necessarily have a starting caliber point guard.
Was it necessary for them to have one? The answer is no, not necessarily. In the upcoming summer, the Heat would be able to justify landing any player who possesses playmaking ability.

It doesn’t have to be a point guard, though. The Heat utilize Bam Adebayo as a playmaker and have plenty of talents that can orchestrate things. Regardless, they do need another volume scorer with playmaking talent.
