The Philadelphia 76ers are heading into NBA Free Agency hoping to add some pieces around Joel Embiid and hoping to re-sign James Harden. Harden has been one of the most talked about upcoming free agents all offseason long. Thankfully for the 76ers, more positive reports have been coming out about the team’s chances of re-signing him.

With that being said, the 76ers still have needs to focus on even if they do re-sign Harden. Unfortunately, they will not have a ton of financial flexibility to make those moves.

Forbes recently took a look at seven potential free agency targets that the 76ers could look at with their Taxpayer Mid-Level Exception.

In the list of seven players that Forbes mentioned, the names are very intriguing. Among those names are Donte DiVincenzo, Lonnie Walker, Seth Curry, Danny Green, Joe Ingles, Hamidou Diallo, and Jevon Carter.

Clearly, the 76ers are not going to be able to swing multiple big moves if they re-sign Harden. They will need to go bargain hunting in order to fill out their roster.

During the 2022-23 NBA season, the 76ers were one of the best teams in the entire NBA. Despite their regular season success, they were bounced by the Boston Celtics in the second round of the NBA Playoffs. That led to the firing of head coach Doc Rivers to begin the offseason.

To replace Rivers, the 76ers went out and hired former Toronto Raptors head coach Nick Nurse. Nurse will bring a much-needed breath of fresh air for Philadelphia. It appears that he has had a major impact in Philly’s chances to bring Harden back to town.

NBA RUMORS & NEWS: Philadelphia 76ers & NBA Free Agency Updates

It will be interesting to see what the 76ers are able to do this offseason. Harden is not a lock to return, but things are trending in that direction. If that does happen, Philadelphia will need to get creative.

Expect to hear plenty of rumors surrounding the Sixers this offseason. They are among the top contenders in the NBA heading into next season once again, but are not built just yet to win a championship.
