Max Strus could leave the Miami Heat this summer and the sharpshooter is being linked to the Indiana Pacers, Orlando Magic and Detroit Pistons, according to NBA insider Jake Fischer of Yahoo Sports.
Strus, who is an undrafted player, becomes an unrestricted free agent on June 30.
“At this juncture, Max Strus, a career 37.1% 3-point shooter over three seasons with Miami, appears headed out of South Beach on the open market,” Fischer wrote. “There are several teams often mentioned by league personnel as Strus suitors, from those with cap room like Detroit, Indiana and Orlando, to teams that have the full mid-level exception like Cleveland, and others that are working to get under the first tax apron and gain access to that $12.2 million salary slot.”
Strus averaged 11.5 points, 3.2 rebounds and 2.1 assists for the Heat this season while shooting 41.0% from the field, 35.0% from beyond the arc and 87.6% from the free-throw line. The Illinois native made 197 3-pointers, which ranked 21st in the NBA.

Along with getting Lillard, the Heat are focused on re-signing point guard Gabe Vincent. Even though Strus helped Miami reach the 2023 NBA Finals and is one of the best shooters in the NBA, it appears the guard will be playing for a new team next season.
