The Portland Trail Blazers are not expected to extend small forward Cam Reddish a qualifying offer, according to NBA insider Michael Scotto of HoopsHype.

Reddish will become an unrestricted free agent and free to sign with any team of his choice if the Blazers don’t make him a restricted free agent by extending a qualifying offer.

The Blazers acquired Reddish from the New York Knicks at the 2023 trade deadline. The Duke product averaged 11.0 points, 2.9 rebounds and 1.9 assists in 20 games with Portland while shooting 44.3% from the field, 31.8% from beyond the arc and 83.3% from the free-throw line.

The Atlanta Hawks drafted Reddish with the 10th overall pick in the 2019 draft. The Norristown native hasn’t been able to stick with a team, as he’s played for the Hawks, Knicks and Blazers. Reddish has career averages of 10.3 points, 3.0 rebounds and 1.3 assists in 173 NBA games.

The Blazers are focused on re-signing forward Jerami Grant and keeping superstar point guard Damian Lillard happy. Lillard met with Blazers general manager Joe Cronin on June 26 to talk about the franchise’s direction. After the meeting ended, Cronin released the following statement:

“I met with Dame and Aaron Goodwin this afternoon,” Cronin said. “We had a great dialogue. We remain committed to building a winner around Dame.”

According to Aaron Fentress of The Oregonian/OregonLive, Lillard is not happy about the Blazers’ inability to trade the third overall pick in the 2023 draft for a star. Portland drafted point guard Scoot Henderson with the third pick.

Lillard signed a two-year, $121.8 million extension with the Blazers in July 2019. The future Hall of Famer caused a major stir a few weeks ago when he said he would want to get traded to the Miami Heat or Brooklyn Nets if the Blazers decided to move him this summer.
