The Washington Wizards are in serious talks with the Phoenix Suns and Miami Heat on a Bradley Beal trade, according to NBA insider Shams Charania of The Athletic and Stadium.
Beal has a no-trade clause in his contract, so he gets to pick his next team.
The Wizards have granted Beal and his representatives permission to speak with teams the three-time All-Star shooting guard has interest in being traded to.
Beal averaged 23.2 points, 3.9 rebounds and 5.4 assists this past season while shooting 50.6% from the field, 36.5% from beyond the arc and 84.2% from the free-throw line. The 29-year-old is one of the best shooters and scorers in the NBA.
The Heat made it all the way to the 2023 NBA Finals, where they lost to the Denver Nuggets in five games. Meanwhile, the Suns lost to the Nuggets in the Western Conference Semifinals in six games. Miami has All-Stars Jimmy Butler and Bam Adebayo, while Phoenix has superstars Kevin Durant and Devin Booker.

The Suns are trying to trade point guard Chris Paul and center Deandre Ayton. Phoenix’s new coach is Frank Vogel, who won the 2020 championship with the Los Angeles Lakers in the Walt Disney World bubble in Orlando, Florida.
The Heat, meanwhile, believe they need another star next to Butler and Adebayo to win a title. Miami is 0-2 in the Finals in the Butler era, which began in 2019-20.

Beal has career averages of 22.1 points, 4.1 boards and 4.3 assists. He has never gotten past the second round of the playoffs with the Wizards, who have a new president, Michael Winger. All signs point toward Beal getting traded this offseason and Washington embarking on a rebuild under Winger.
It’s possible Beal gets traded before the 2023 NBA Draft, which is on June 22.
