Why The Orlando Magic Do The Deal 

We know, we know…Bamba back in Orlando? 

That’s not the point here. In all likelihood, the Magic would end up waiving the big man. Bamba may still have potential, but Orlando already decided to give up on it. 

For the Magic, this is mainly about acquiring three second-round picks. That’s a fair return for Harris. The Magic could use these picks as sweeteners for a bigger deal down the line. 

With that said, this could also be about clearing up room in the rotation. The Magic have two picks in the upcoming lottery. If they’re adding two prospects, the rotation is likely to get crowded.

If even one of those prospects is an off-guard, they may deem it imperative to move Harris. 

If he ends up being part of James’ legacy, so be it.
