On Monday night, the Miami Heat saw their postseason run come to an end. After making their way through the play-in tournament, they managed to work their way to the NBA Finals.

The Heat were able to pull off multiple upsets but eventually met their match in the former of Nikola Jokic and the Denver Nuggets. In the end, they fell in the finals in five games.

Following their Game 5 loss, the Heat opened up on their run and how it came to an end. First up was head coach Erik Spoelstra. He feels the team had no regrets and had nothing but high praise for the Nuggets as a team.

“There’s no regrets on our end,” Spoelstra said after the Nuggets hoisted the Larry O’Brien Trophy. “There’s just sometimes where you get beat, and Denver was the better basketball team in this series.

“You have to tip your hat to them,” Spoelstra said of the Nuggets. “I said it, but they are one hell of a basketball team. They play the right way, they compete, they are well-coached and they have a strong culture. So for this season, they deserve this.”

Next up to chime in was Jimmy Butler. He was nothing short of incredible throughout the entire postseason but struggled toward the end of this series. The All-Star forward wishes he could have gotten the job done for his team but still managed to learn from the experience as a whole.

“I’m just grateful,” Butler said. “I learned so much. They taught me so much. I wish I could have got it done for these guys, because they definitely deserve it.”

One of the final players to talk was Udonis Haslem. After being a pillar of the franchise for 20 years, he is finally calling it a career in 2023. While it didn’t end with a championship ring, he is still thankful for the run he got to be a part of with this group.

“I’m proud of the guys. I’m proud of the team,” Haslem said. “I just thank those guys for giving me this amazing memory. This amazing memory to take with me. I tell the guys I have no complaints, I have no regrets. They gave me a final season that I’ll never, ever forget, and that’s all I can ask for.”
