Normally, NBA contenders don’t land picks in the high lottery. After all, that’s how they got into the high lottery. At the same time, there are exceptions.

Throughout history, we’ve occasionally seen teams with high aspirations at the top of the lottery. 

This year is no exception. The Portland Trail Blazers have the third overall pick in the upcoming NBA Draft. With Damian Lillard on their roster, they’re allegedly hoping to turn that pick into an elite small forward. 

So, the Blazers need to target a team with an elite small forward, and an interest in the draft. Luckily, there may be one.

It’s been reported that the New Orleans Pelicans are looking to acquire Scoot Henderson this summer.
