One NBA insider believes point guard Chris Paul should sign with the Los Angeles Clippers this summer if he gets waived by the Phoenix Suns.
Ric Bucher thinks Paul going back to the Clippers makes a lot of sense for both sides.
The Suns could waive or trade Paul this summer. The future Hall of Famer has a partially guaranteed contract for next season.
Former MVP Russell Westbrook becomes an unrestricted free agent this offseason, so the Clippers may need a new point guard if Westbrook signs with another team.
Paul averaged 13.9 points, 4.3 rebounds and 8.9 assists for the Suns this season while shooting 44.0% from the field, 37.5% from beyond the arc and 83.1% from the free-throw line. The 12-time All-Star has never won a title despite playing on several talented teams. The Suns were picked by many people to win the championship this season after the club acquired two-time Finals MVP Kevin Durant from the Brooklyn Nets.

However, Phoenix lost to the Denver Nuggets in the Western Conference Semifinals in six games. Paul got hurt in Game 2 and missed the rest of the series.
The Clippers lost to the Suns in the first round of the playoffs. Two-time champion Kawhi Leonard only played in two games due to a torn meniscus, while All-Star small forward Paul George missed the entire series with his own injury.
Paul going back to the Clippers would be an interesting sight, but we still have to wait and see what the Suns are going to do with CP3. The other team in LA, the Los Angeles Lakers, will likely have interest in Paul if he becomes a free agent. Paul and four-time MVP LeBron James are very close friends and have always wanted to play with each other.
