Why The Los Angeles Lakers Do The Deal 

This is a bold move for the Lakers. They may not want to make it. 

Fair. James and Davis won an NBA title together. Some would say that the best thing the Lakers could do is retool around their star duo. 

On the other hand, James has typically thrived alongside a star offensive guard. LaVine would be a perfect complement. He can handle playmaking duties when James needs to rest, and space the floor for him when he’s on the ball. 

Besides, the Lakers don’t completely compromise their defense here. They’re landing one of the best defensive guards in the NBA in Alex Caruso.
