Miami Heat point guard Gabe Vincent doesn’t care what NBA pundits and fans have to say about his squad.

After the Heat won Game 2 of the 2023 NBA Finals against the Denver Nuggets, Vincent concisely addressed the Heat’s critics.

“I speak for my whole team when I say we don’t give a damn,” Vincent said. “We just wanna get four wins. We don’t give a damn about any of the other stuff. … We don’t care [what people are saying]. Four wins. That’s all that matters.”

The Heat won Game 2 of the Finals by a final score of 111-108. Vincent finished with 23 points and three assists in 31 minutes while shooting 8-of-12 from the field, 4-of-6 from beyond the arc and 3-of-3 from the free-throw line.

“I think that everyone that’s got a jersey on is willing to give in to whatever we need to try to help us get a win,” Vincent said. “I think that helps a lot, whether it’s Kevin and Caleb or Max or Duncan or myself or Kyle. You go down the roster, and guys are just willing to give in, and I think that’s huge.

“I think just in general, we just competed harder today. I don’t know if it was any direct scheme or direct thing we did outside of just being a little more intentional and a little more focused and playing just a bit harder. Playing a little — just competing a little bit more.”

The Heat stole home-court advantage from the Nuggets. Now they have to win both Games 3 and 4 at home to keep home-court advantage.

Game 3 is on Wednesday, June 7.

“It’s going to be a different game entirely,” Vincent said. “I think every game will be different this series, especially, and it will be great to be back home to start with, be back in front of our fans, it will be an awesome environment, great experience. It’s going to be a battle. They are going to bring everything they got and we’d better do the same.”
