Denver Nuggets superstar center Nikola Jokic is the third player in NBA postseason history with 500 points, 200 rebounds and 150 assists in a single playoff run.

The only other players who have done so are Los Angeles Lakers star LeBron James and Boston Celtics legend Larry Bird.

Jokic is averaging a triple-double in the 2023 playoffs. The two-time MVP is putting up 30.4 points, 12.9 rebounds and 10.1 assists per game.

Jokic had 41 points, 11 rebounds and four assists in Game 2 of the 2023 NBA Finals against the Miami Heat. However, the Nuggets lost by three points.

“I mean, we didn’t want it to happen, of course, but it happened,” Jokic said. “So we’re going to live with it. We are going to Miami to play another game. …  I mean, just you need to know what to do. We had a lot of miscommunication and misunderstanding. They were getting open looks, especially at the beginning of the game, and we have a couple at the end of the game, too. You just need to know where to be or what to do or what’s the coverage or whatever.”

The Nuggets have to win one game in Miami to reclaim home-court advantage. Denver has won on the road in every series this postseason.

“Of course, sometimes you win, sometimes you lose, and especially in the playoffs where every game is different, every game matters, which is normal,” Jokic said. “We didn’t want to lose, but we lost. So hopefully we’re going to go there and win the next one.”

Jokic is averaging 34.0 points, 10.5 rebounds and 9.0 assists versus the Heat while shooting 60.0% from the field, 42.9% from beyond the arc and 85.0% from the free-throw line. It will be fascinating to see how the Nuggets play in Game 3 after losing Game 2 at home.
