It feels like we’ve been writing this piece over and over again. Will the Los Angeles Lakers trade their future first-round picks? There’s a lot at stake for the NBA if so.
On a surface level, they’ve almost got to move them. This team features LeBron James. He is still producing at a high level, and he is 38. They need to focus on the future.
On the other hand, we can understand reservations from the front office. The Lakers have a reasonably bright present, but they’re far from title favorites.
Meanwhile, they’ve got very little as far as the future is concerned.
At this year’s trade deadline, the Lakers split the difference. They traded a pick, but it was protected. Could they take the same course of action this summer?
If so, here’s a deal that has them landing Gary Trent Jr. of the Toronto Raptors.
