Nikola Jokic and the Denver Nuggets have lost only three games in the 2023 NBA playoffs. The Western Conference champions are averaging 115.6 points per game in the postseason and their offense looks so fluid because Jokic never forces anything.

“I don’t force it,” Jokic said after the Nuggets won Game 1 of the Finals versus the Miami Heat. “I never force it, I think. It was a couple guys had it going, AG (Aaron Gordon) was playing really good, and we had advantage there. I just take whatever the game gives me.”

Jokic is averaging a triple-double in the 2023 postseason. The two-time MVP finished with 27 points, 10 rebounds and 14 assists in Game 1 on only 12 shot attempts. The Nuggets superstar is truly one of the most unselfish players we’ve ever seen.

“That’s the craziest thing about Joker,” Nuggets small forward Michael Porter Jr. told Ramona Shelburne of ESPN. “He can have such a big impact and shoot the ball three times. He doesn’t care at all. … He’s just always going to take what the defense gives him.”

Jokic is averaging 29.8 points, 13.1 rebounds and 10.5 assists in the 2023 playoffs. He is three wins away from winning his first NBA championship and cementing himself as one of the greatest players in NBA history.

“That’s how I learned to play basketball, and I think it’s really nice to play — it’s really hard to guard when you don’t know who’s going to attack and how to defend when everybody is moving, everybody is doing something,” Jokic said. “I think it’s a really nice brand of basketball that we have, and everybody buys in. I’m not sure that I did that for us or whatever, but I think everybody contributed and everybody accepted it.”
