The Miami Heat will have their hands full with Denver Nuggets stars Nikola Jokic and Jamal Murray in the NBA Finals.

Jokic and Murray are nearly impossible to stop in the pick-and-roll game. During Miami’s Finals media day, Heat head coach Erik Spoelstra raved about Jokic and Murray.

“Well, they’re both dynamic,” Spoelstra said. “They both can do it on their own, but they also both really complement each other. That’s hard to find in this league when your two best players just absolutely complement each other. They both have scored 50 in a playoff game, and they both can be facilitators.

“I don’t think either one of them care how many points they score. It’s just about getting the most efficient shot for the offense. They play the right way. That’s something that you have to do, try to get them out of that rhythm. There’s no easy way to do that. You just have to find a way.”

Jokic is averaging 29.9 points, 13.3 rebounds and 10.3 assists in the 2023 playoffs, while Murray is putting up 27.7 points, 5.5 rebounds and 6.1 assists per game. The Nuggets are four wins away from winning their first championship in franchise history and Jokic and Murray are the two catalysts of the team.

Denver is 12-3 in the postseason thus far. Jokic and Murray beat the Minnesota Timberwolves in the first round of the playoffs in five games, defeated the Phoenix Suns in the second round in six games and swept the Los Angeles Lakers in the conference finals.

“I just keep that same mentality,” Murray said at Finals media day. “I know there’s a lot of media in here and stuff, but we have four wins to go. Keep that same mind state, stay focused. Can’t get relaxed or complacent. I think that’s the biggest thing. Or satisfied. We haven’t won a championship. Until then, stay in the right mindset and everything will come.”
