The 2023 NBA draft class is loaded with talent, one of the biggest names being Brandon Miller. Despite some concerns outside of basketball, he has the potential to have a very successful NBA career.

When the draft rolls around, player comparisons are a common topic of conversation. Leading up to the start of his journey in the pros, Miller touched a player he wants to model himself after.

During an interview with Shams Charania of The Athletic, Miller opened up on someone he’s been studying as he prepares to enter the league. The 6-foot-9 forward is using LA Clipper All-Star Paul George as a source of inspiration.

“I kind of studied Paul George, kind of modeled my game after his, just with my own twist to it. I stole a majority of his moves and put my own twist to it and just kind of perfected it. I like more of the Indiana Pacers [Paul George].”

Overall, Miller picked a perfect match to base his game off of. When Paul George first entered the league, he too was just a three-and-D wing prospect. From there, he was able to evolve his game to what we see now.

From the moment he enters the NBA, Miller should be impactful on both ends of the floor. During his lone season at Alabama, he averaged 18.8 points, 8.2 rebounds, and 2.1 assists. On top of that, he averaged close to a steal and block per game while shooting 38.4% from beyond the arc.

If Brandon Miller is able to become a similar type of player as PG during his time with the Pacers, one team is going to get a steal on draft night. He already has all the physical tools to be successful and picked a good player to model his career after.
