The Boston Celtics and Jaylen Brown can agree to a supermax contract extension this offseason since the small forward made an All-NBA team this season.

Even though Brown struggled in Game 7 of the Eastern Conference Finals against the Miami Heat, Brian Windhorst of ESPN is reporting that the Celtics will likely sign their talented swingman to the supermax extension.

“In talking to people on both sides, I think there’s a very good chance they’re gonna find ground on that,” Windhorst said on his podcast.

Keith Smith of Spotrac broke down what a supermax extension would look like for Brown, who averaged 26.6 points, 6.9 rebounds and 3.5 assists during the regular season. The extension would be a five-year deal worth around $290 million.

NBA NEWS & TRADE RUMORS: Jaylen Brown & Boston Celtics Updates

“We failed,” Brown said. “I failed. We let the whole city down. … More pain of coming up short. All in all, I think the year was a great year. Those guys in that locker room, through any circumstance, have stepped up, even from the start of the year, how things started off with our coaching staff, with all the different turmoil that we’ve experienced throughout the year, injuries, whatever. These guys have been a resilient group.

“So it was just an honor to play with them and share the floor with our guys and our coaching staff. It’s pain that we are here coming up short.”
