NBA Hall of Famer Scottie Pippen praised LeBron James and brutally ripped Michael Jordan during an appearance on Stacey King’s podcast.
Pippen, who won six championships with Jordan during the ’90s on the Chicago Bulls, said James will be the greatest statistical player in NBA history and that Jordan was a horrible player before he got to the Bulls in 1987.
Pippen has taken several shots at Jordan since The Last Dance docuseries came out in 2020. The Arkansas native was very upset at how MJ — who had editorial control over The Last Dance — portrayed him in the popular docuseries.

Jordan called Pippen “selfish” for having ankle surgery on purpose at the start of the 1997-98 season as his way of thumbing his nose at management. The docuseries also covered Pippen not going into a playoff game against the New York Knicks in 1994 after Phil Jackson called a game-winning play for Toni Kukoc instead of Scottie.
Pippen released a book called Unguarded in 2021. In the book, the six-time champion destroys Jordan multiple times.
“Even in the second episode, which focused for a while on my difficult upbringing and unlikely path to the NBA, the narrative returned to MJ and his determination to win,” Pippen wrote in his book. “I was nothing more than a prop. His ‘best teammate of all time,’ he called me. He couldn’t have been more condescending if he tried.
“On second thought, I could believe my eyes. I spent a lot of time around the man. I knew what made him tick. How naïve I was to expect anything else.”

Pippen and Jordan are believed to no longer be friends. Meanwhile, James — who became the NBA’s all-time leading scorer this season — grew up watching Jordan and Pippen on the Bulls. LeBron has yet to be asked about the things Pippen has said about Jordan since The Last Dance came out.
