James Harden and LeBron James would make for quite the duo. In fact, they almost came together before.
When James joined the Lakers, he was rumored to be considering plenty of teams. One of them was Harden’s Houston Rockets. It isn’t difficult to find a picture of James superimposed in a Rockets jersey.
At the time, it made sense. Harden’s star running mate was Chris Paul. He’s one of James’ best friends. If he’d joined the Rockets, they could have been a powerhouse.

It was never to be. In hindsight, it’s been suggested that James never gave the Rockets a serious thought.
Perhaps he didn’t see a need for his services on a team that had so much playmaking on it already.
