The Kentucky product became the first player to ever average 30 points on 50-40-90 shooting in a conference finals series.

Murray averaged 32.5 points, 6.3 rebounds, and 5.3 assists versus the Lakers in the conference finals while shooting 52.7% from the field, 40.5% from beyond the arc, and 95.0% from the free-throw line. Denver swept Los Angeles to advance to the NBA Finals for the first time in franchise history.

“It’s incredible. It’s a lot of fun. It’s surreal. I know we’re going to keep making history,” Murray said after Game 4 of the Lakers-Nuggets series. “That’s the thing. We want to keep that mindset and enjoy the moment. But we’ve got more work to do, so that’s the mindset right now.”

Murray missed the entire 2021-22 season recovering from ACL surgery. The 26-year-old is proud of how hard he worked to become an elite player again following such a devastating injury.

“I had some ups and downs during the season, some sore days where I couldn’t play, and those sucked. Played my first back-to-back in January or something like that,” Murray said. “It’s just been trending. Every month I feel my knee get better and more solid and more consistent in the way it’s going to feel. … I’m just glad I put the work in during the rehab to be able to perform and be at my best.”

Murray and the Nuggets will face either the Miami Heat or Boston Celtics in the NBA Finals.

“We just want to make the most of the opportunity,” Murray said. “First Nuggets team to do that. We want to go all the way and stay locked in. I think our chemistry is at an all-time high, the way we play, the way we read the game without even speaking. We talk that language on the court. It’s just beautiful basketball, honestly. It’s so fun to play with this team.”
