Of course, there’s a stark contrast between the Knicks and the Thunder. Oklahoma City is one of the smallest markets in the NBA. 

Does that matter to Embiid? Well, we don’t know. The Thunder would have to do their homework before sinking their assets into this acquisition. 

If Embiid is open to joining them, this is a no-brainer. Pairing him with Shai Gilgeous-Alexander would give the Thunder one of the best duos in the NBA. If they keep Chet Holmgren following this deal, they could have an extremely imposing defensive frontcourt as well. 

With that said, the Sixers could insist on the Thunder including Holmgren. On the other hand, they may not.
