Why The Portland Trail Blazers Do The Deal 

For Portland, this probably depends on what else happens during the summer. 

The Blazers have been linked to plenty of big names. Most of them are two-way wings. If they’re able to make a deal for Pascal Siakam, Mikal Bridges, or Jaylen Brown, Grant becomes expendable. 

Why not sign and trade him for a strong defensive big man? Ayton may be imperfect. He’s still a massive body who can command the paint. 

Damian Lillard hasn’t had a big man like that on his team in a long time – if ever.
