Why The Washington Wizards Do The Deal 

The Wizards do this deal to bottom out. Frankly, it’s about time. There are several factors that differentiate them from the Heat.

Market is as big as any. The Wizards are seldom major players in free agency. Nobody is likely to bail this team out. 

Meanwhile, they appear to be stuck. This deal helps them find some direction. They’re getting significantly younger, and they’re getting some draft capital in the process. 

It may not force them to the bottom of the standings, either. If this front office insists on avoiding the tanking route, this deal could still appeal.
