Every year building up to the NBA Draft, we hear rumors. Without fail, lottery teams will be considering trading their pick.
Why wouldn’t they? A lottery pick is a valuable asset. Teams will get a lot for one. Perhaps that’s why they normally don’t end up trading them.
This year, whoever lands the number one pick will make it untouchable. Nobody is trading the rights to select Victor Wembanyama.
He will enter the NBA with as much trade value as any player that’s already in the league.
The Detroit Pistons are no exception. If they have the rights to drafting Wembanyama, they’re drafting Wembanyama. Otherwise, they could be open to trading their pick.
Could they trade it to the Brooklyn Nets in exchange for Mikal Bridges?
