Why The Orlando Magic Do The Deal 

This deal has the Magic selling low. There’s no denying that. This is a potential defensive star. They’re giving him up for very little. Are we entirely sure about this? No.

With that said nobody should be optimistic about Isaac. There’s a very real chance that this guy can never play in the NBA on a regular basis. That’s unfortunate, but it’s also a reality. 

With that in mind, the Magic could be adding two new rotation players here. Holmes could be their new backup big. Dozier is recovering from his own injury, but he’s been a solid player when healthy as well. 

The ideal outcome for the Magic would be for Isaac to stay healthy and to be a difference-maker in their rotation, but ultimately, there is enough talent to where it’s hard to see how he factors in cleanly.

Wendell Carter Jr. is the anchor at the five next to Paolo Banchero and Franz Wagner. It’s as simple as that. With more draft prospects incoming, there could be even less room for Isaac.
