At times, we all have to make difficult decisions in life. Surely, you’ve wanted something before. It may be that you couldn’t afford it. The NBA can relate.

In that event, you had to go without it. Sometimes, teams need to make similarly difficult decisions.

They may have a player that they love, but soon, they may not be able to afford them. In that event, sometimes, they’ve got to make the difficult decision to move him. 

For example, look at Nic Claxton of the Brooklyn Nets. This was a Defensive Player of the Year candidate in 2022-23.

Claxton is young enough to contend for the award for years to come. With that said, he’ll be due for a lucrative contract extension next season.
