To hear some insiders tell it, James Harden has already returned to the Houston Rockets. Who knows? It’s possible. Of course, it’s also possible that the Sixers gave Harden a max deal in free agency.

The results of their upcoming series with the Boston Celtics could be telling. If Harden is leaving, keep an eye on Joel Embiid.

A failed season in addition to the departure of Harden could motivate the likely MVP to request a trade. If he does, suitors will be lined up around the corner. 

It’s almost like a natural cycle in the NBA at this point. When a team hits a wall and consistently can’t win a title, something has to give. The Sixers may be hitting that point.
