If you’re a Milwaukee Bucks fan right now, you’re feeling the Heat. Pun intended. Although, in actuality, you’re not feeling the Heat. They just were upset in the first-round of the NBA playoffs in historic fashion as the league’s top-seeded team.
The Bucks were not supposed to be here. They were supposed to be world-beaters. After losing the series, the former champions will have an interesting summer.
After such a disappointing playoff exit, the Bucks have a long way to go regarding re-tooling around Giannis Antetokounmpo and potentially a short time to achieve it. He can opt out of his current contract after the 2024-25 season.
While the Bucks have already won a championship with Antetokounmpo, they aren’t a team that is well-positioned for the future in the slightest. They need to add a younger member to their core.
One option would be to complete the starting lineup by adding another key piece after retaining the other members. A shooting guard with some scoring punch and versatility would help.
Could they acquire Gary Trent Jr. of the Toronto Raptors?
