The Brooklyn Nets are in an odd spot. It’s not that this organization has insurmountable problems. They don’t. Still, they need to navigate this next phase of their progression carefully before the NBA offseason.
The Nets need to make the right moves. After all, they were just swept in the first round of the playoffs by the Philadelphia 76ers. Joel Embiid got injured, and it didn’t matter.
The Nets are clearly far from title contention. They also owe their first-round picks to the Houston Rockets through to 2027. Tanking is not an option here.
With that in mind, the Nets are a strong candidate to make a significant trade this summer. It just so happens there is a superstar that could become available on the trade market who was attending an NBA playoff game in Brooklyn in a court side seat: Damian Lillard.

Could the Nets target a trade for Lillard with the Blazers this offseason?
