The Houston Rockets have been one of the worst teams in the NBA, but one of their players feels change is right around the corner. While live on Instagram, Jalen Green made a bold prediction for next season.

During a rant on his live feed, Jalen Green stated that the Houston Rockets are going to be in the playoffs next year. They ended this year in 14th place of the Western Conference with a record of 22-60.

“Yeah we in the Playoffs next year. That’s what the plan is, that’s what the goal is. Try and get some wins. It’s a whole different year next year, we going in different. Coming in hot. Light the Fuse!”

This would be a massive year-to-year jump, but it’s not impossible. Even with the Western Conference being stacked, the Houston Rockets could look very different by the start of next season.

For starters, they will have a new head coach at the helm. Stephen Silas was let go after three years, and the team is reportedly going after Nick Nurse after he parted ways with the Toronto Raptors.

The main thing that could turn the Rockets into a playoff team is the players they might add this summer. Heading into the draft lottery, Houston has one of the top-three odds to land the top selection and pick Victor Wembanyama. If the seven-foot French prospect can translate to the NBA, Houston will instantly shoot up the standings.

Aside from the draft, the Rockets have also been connected to a big-name free agent. Dating back to Christmas Day, there have been rumblings about James Harden wanting to reunite with his former team.

If the Rockets’ front office is able to have a home run offseason, then Jalen Green’s prediction could very well come true in 2024. There’s a lot that needs to play out before we’ll know more.
