The Miami Heat were able to take advantage of a slight injury to Milwaukee Bucks’ star Giannis Antetokounmpo to take Game 1 of their first-round series. Unfortunately, they also suffered a major injury. Tyler Herro went down with a broken hand. Obviously, there is grave concern about when he could possibly return from the injury.
While some fans have held out wild hope that he could return in Game 2, that hope was squashed.
According to head coach Erik Spoelstra, Herro is out for Game 2 and the timetable for his return is unknown at this point in time. Jimmy Butler also went on to talk about how much Herro has meant to the team.
“He’s not going to play the next game, and then we’ll just figure it out,” Heat coach Erik Spoelstra said of Herro. “I got the same diagnosis that you all heard.”
“You can’t fully make up what Tyler has been for our team all year long, but guys got to step up, including myself, including Bam [Adebayo] and whoever Spo calls upon to do an offensive assignment, a defensive assignment, to bring some energy, to dive on the floor, get a loose ball or rebound,” Butler said. “It’s like all hands on deck at all times, now more than ever.”

Clearly, this is not good news for the Heat. They were already a long-shot to beat the Bucks and move forward in the playoffs. Without Herro, those chances will drop significantly.
Only time will tell if Tyler Herro’s season has come to an end. The Heat would likely have to advance for him to come back, if he were even to come back then. This is a major blow for Miami.
Game 2 will come on Wednesday night at 9:00 p.m. EST on NBA TV. Make sure to tune in to see if Miami can find a way to take a 2-0 series lead, or if the Greek Freak and the Bucks will even the series.
