Oklahoma City Thunder Receive: F Zion Williamson 

When your generational draft pick isn’t working out, what do you do? Perhaps you load up on more draft picks. 

Unfortunately for New Orleans, Williamson won’t have the trade value they’d like. His injury-proneness will limit his return. With that in mind, this is a good haul. 

After all, the Pelicans are receiving three first-rounders. They’re also getting two exciting young players in Giddey and Dort. That’s as good as they’re likely to do for Williamson. 

Meanwhile, this deal has the Thunder taking a tremendous risk. Chet Holmgren may be injury prone as well – they’ll have put a lot of eggs in a delicate basket.

Still, the payoff could be enormous. 

With that said, if the risk is too great for them, the Pelicans may have to look elsewhere.
