The Raptors’ reunion with DeRozan here is a nice secondary plot.
In fact, it could be more than that. The Raptors may not want to plunge to the absolute bottom of the NBA standings.
After all, they traded their pick in the next draft – with protections – to the San Antonio Spurs in exchange for Jakob Poeltl.
That doesn’t prohibit them from making a major change. Siakam is a bit redundant alongside Scottie Barnes. He may be the future of this organization. Trading him makes some sense.
