It’s easy to say an NBA team is a piece away from title contention. It may be too easy.
Any team in the NBA would improve by acquiring a top-5 player. That’s just obvious. In theory, any team is a piece or two away from contention.
With that said – the Brooklyn Nets may really be a piece away. This team has a deep roster full of elite defensive players. There’s a framework for serious title contention here.
What the Nets are lacking is a first offensive option. Mikal Bridges has done an admirable job of filling that role, but realistically, the Nets need a more dynamic offensive player to really get serious.
Could that player be DeMar DeRozan of the Chicago Bulls?
