Why The Washington Wizards Do The Deal
On the other hand, this deal doesn’t make Washington better. It isn’t supposed to.
Some Wizards fans won’t understand that logic. What’s the point of trading Kuzma if you’re not trading Bradley Beal and Kristaps Porzingis? Yeah…about that.
Frankly, we’d overhaul the roster. We’d sign and trade Porzingis, and move Beal for the best return. The best reason to make this deal is that it’s one of several deals designed to trigger a rebuild.
With that said, if this front office refuses to take that route, this could still make sense. The Wizards may be able to make a big trade using these picks in tandem with their own.
