Why The Dallas Mavericks Do The Deal 

Forget everything you’ve just read. This has nothing to do with market size. This has everything to do with basketball. 

The Mavericks were struggling before they acquired Kyrie Irving. They’ve struggled since acquiring Kyrie Irving. Let’s be honest – this isn’t going well. 

That’s not to say the Mavericks should trade Doncic this summer. Let’s be clear – they should not. Unless, of course, he requests a trade. 

In that event, the Mavs may not have a choice. If they don’t, this is a good trade. They’re receiving two quality young players, five first-round picks, and two swaps.
