Why The Denver Nuggets Do The Deal 

We’ll say this much: if adding Anunoby doesn’t do it, the Nuggets have got some serious problems. 

This is one of the best 3-and-D wings in the NBA. Anunoby can guard multiple positions, lock down the point of attack and make defensive plays. If he can’t cover for Jokic, it’s hard to imagine who could. 

Of course, the Nuggets aren’t only adding Anunoby here. They’re also subtracting Porter Jr. As offensively gifted as he is, Porter Jr. is a limited defender in his own right. 

All told, Gordon and Anunoby ought to be able to co-anchor an average defense, even with Jokic in the middle. Finally, it’s been suggested that Anunoby wants a bigger role than he has in Toronto.
