Why The Orlando Magic Do The Deal 

For Orlando, this deal will depend entirely on where their own first-round pick lands. 

If it lands first overall, this is obviously a moot point. They wouldn’t trade the rights to draft Victor Wembanyama for Young, Murray, and a multitude of first-round picks. 

Even if it lands second, Orlando should just draft Scoot Henderson. It would be senseless to move this much draft capital for a young star point guard when there’s one right there to draft. 

On the other hand, suppose it lands lower. Orlando could decide that it’s time to take a step forward and make a win-now move.
