Yup. We went there. Think about it. The Sixers could be on the verge of collapse. If they don’t make a deep playoff run this season, it’s rumored that James Harden will leave in free agency.

It’s entirely possible that Embiid will demand a trade in that event. 

So, this deal depends on a lot of variables. Still, let’s imagine that both Embiid and Doncic want to relocate this summer. Why not switch spots? 

The Mavericks get an MVP candidate. The Sixers get a new franchise player. Doncic and Tyrese Maxey should be an elite backcourt for the foreseeable future.

On the other hand, Dallas will have to work quickly to put a good group around Embiid, but he sure gives them a starting point. 

As long as he’s happy with them, of course.
