They satisfied one. Bringing in Irving was supposed to be the first step toward contention. So far, it hasn’t looked to be.
This is a concern for Mavericks fans. If Irving walks this summer, they moved Dorrian Finney-Smith and a first-round pick. Unless they can orchestrate a sign-and-trade, that is.
That’s what they’re doing here. Now, Dallas will have their defensive big – without their secondary ball-handler.
