Why The Los Angeles Clippers Do The Deal 

If the Clippers are disappointing enough this season, they may make bigger changes than this one. 

That’s looking increasingly likely. Paul George just suffered an injury. At this point, nobody knows when the star wing will return. 

Let’s assume that he doesn’t. In theory, the Clippers could justify running this core back with some relatively minor changes. They may feel that with better health and an upgraded roster, they’ll be back in the title conversation. 

This is a roster upgrade. Collins’ elite athleticism makes him a more dynamic offensive player than either of the players the Clippers are sending out here.
