In some ways, there’s nothing worse than being so close, yet so far. Sometimes, NBA teams get so close, yet so far.
If you’ve got a goal, you want to achieve it. Coming close to achieving it isn’t going to cut it. If anything, that’s more frustrating – you were so close.
All told, they either win an NBA title or they don’t. If that was the goal, anything less qualifies as a disappointment.
It’s beginning to look like the Los Angeles Clippers may disappoint by that measure. With Paul George suffering an injury, their title odds are looking slim in 2022-23.
Assuming they don’t win it all, it wouldn’t be a shock if they made major changes next season.
Could acquiring Kristaps Porzingis of the Washington Wizards be one of those changes?
