For some, the NBA is divided into star players and role players.
There’s some truth in that. At the same time, it can be dismissive of some very talented players. Sometimes, a role player can be key to unlocking a team’s championship aspirations.
Perhaps that team was a 3-and-D wing away from title contention. It could be a spark plug off the bench they’re looking for. Either way, the key is to acquire players who star in their roles.
Players like Alex Caruso of the Chicago Bulls, for example. Caruso isn’t going to lead the NBA in scoring.
Still, this is a player who absolutely stars in terms of doing what he’s supposed to do.
Could he be reunited with the Los Angeles Lakers this summer?
